His “renowned” practice has seen him represent clients on both sides of the Atlantic. In Europe, he advises on European community law, and in the US, his practice involves proceedings before federal and state agencies, courts and Congress. Andrea Bear Field is the managing partner of the DC office. Henry Nickel’s “distinguished” practice specialises in administrative and judicial proceedings under the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and the National Environmental Policy Act. Kathy Robb is one of the leading lawyers in the US in terms of water policy and law, and her clients include water districts, developers, electric utilities, investors, chemical manufacturers, and paper companies. William Wehrum, head of the administrative law group and chair of the environmental team, focuses on air quality issues including regulatory development and related litigation. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Wehrum worked as an environment engineer for a major chemical manufacturer. As such, his knowledge of the area is uniquely deep. Virginia Albrecht has significant experience in permit negotiation, litigation of policy issues, lobbying Congress, enforcement defence, and compliance counselling. Her “impressive roster of clients” includes development companies, agricultural and mining companies, state and local agencies, and trade associations. Lucas Bergkamp has represented multinational organisations in a variety of environmental, health and safety and life sciences matters. His expertise is widely regarded in relation to plant and product-related environmental law, chemical law, and pesticides and biocides.

Hunton & Williams looks to constantly expand its pro bono practice. In the years 2009 to 2011, 100 per cent of the firm’s full-time US lawyers participated in pro bono projects and more than 50,000 hours were donated to charitable clients throughout that period.
While the firm’s most recent office opened in Tokyo in 2011, most of the offices that make up the firm’s global network were founded in the 1990s and the first decade of the 21st century. The firm’s ability to service its clients’ global business needs is thus both well established and steadily developing.
