The result of a merger in 2000, Kromann Reumert is Denmark’s premier law firm and receives our accolade of Danish firm of the year for the eight consecutive time. The firm consists of around 300 lawyers spread across its offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Brussels and London. Four leading practitioners at the firm are singled out for their expertise in internet, e-commerce and data protection law, including Lau Normann Jørgensen head of the firm’s IT and outsourcing group and a “specialist” at systems procurement, outsourcing, M&A, corporate transactions and litigation related to the IT and telecommunications industries. Vagn Thorup is a “key figure” in the Danish IT and outsourcing market and Søren Skibsted, head of the firm’s outsourcing practice group, is “undoubtedly top-tier” according to peers. Jørgen Kjergaard Madsen is considered a “superb all-rounder” in the fields of IT, banking, capital markets and corporate governance and is recognised in all of the corresponding chapters in this edition.
Kromann Reumert’s employment and labour law group boasts “extensive expertise” and four individuals from this group are featured in this edition. Helene Amsinck has nearly 20 years’ experience in the field and receives particular praise for her appreciation of the business context of client’s concerns. Marianne Granhøj is an “expert” at dispute resolution within the management labour and employment sector and has appeared before a range of different courts. Managing partner Claus Juel Hansen is internationally recognised as ”one of the top employment and labour lawyers in Denmark” and focuses on the interrelationship between company law, M&A and employment law. The “wonderful” Jens Lund Mosbek is “renowned” for his work on pension and share-based payment forms as well as his dispute resolution skills.
A trio of lawyers appear in the capital markets chapter. The aforementioned Jørgen Kjergaard Madsen is especially prominent in this area due to his “high-quality” securities law work. The “innovative” Christian Lundgren is “superb” at handling capital market transactions and also has an active M&A practice, for which he is recognised in the corresponding chapter. Chairman of the firm Marianne Philip is celebrated for her “unparalleled ability” in transactions and client-oriented approach to matters.
Kromann Reumert fields three competition lawyers to this edition, including the “excellent” Morten Kofmann. Kofmann is “greatly respected” for his expert advice on all aspects of EU and Danish competition law, including multi-jurisdictional merger procedures, international cartel investigations, unilateral conduct matters, distribution networks, civil damages actions, compliance programmes and state aid issues. Jens Munk Plum garners praise from peers throughout Europe for his knowledge of EU and Danish competition law and is described as the “go-to guy” for merger control and advice on pricing issues. He is also singled out for his public procurement work. Similarly Erik Bertelsen is considered a “standout” lawyer for both competition and public procurement matters and is highly regarded for his “commercial insight”.
In addition, the firm is home to several “multi-talented” individuals who feature across several chapters. Jens Rostock-Jensen garners four listings in the fields of aviation, commercial litigation, insurance and reinsurance and product liability defence. He is considered “exceptionally talented” in dispute resolution and has a “first-class understanding” of insurance, product liability and aviation law. The “stellar” Dorte Wahl is “one of the best” intellectual property lawyers in Denmark and features in both our patents and trademarks sections. Nicolai Lindgreen is listed in both our life sciences and patents chapters due to his “immense knowledge”.
Kromann Reumert maintains an active pro bono practice. One of the firm’s early projects includes working with SOS Children’s Villages, and the firm remains their lawyers to this day.
