Kromann Reumert welcomed in the new year with a new managing partner Arne Møllin Ottosen, who replaced Claus Juel Hansen. January also saw three new members join the firm’s board.
Although the firm is based in Denmark it has an international outlook and it is the country’s only member of the Lex Mundi association, which provides it with an extensive international network of 160 independent law firms comprising more than 20,000 lawyers from around the globe. PEOPLE AND PLACES
The firm has an extremely strong M&A practice which has extensive transactional experience both in the Nordic region and internationally. Henrik Møgelmose is considered a “key figure” at the Danish Bar and also has a “superb” international reputation. Peers praise his “impressive technical expertise and brilliant understanding of cross-border issues”. The talented Christian Lundgren is singled out for both his M&A and capital markets abilities. Clients value his “straightforward approach and top-notch commercial understanding”.
Kromann Reumert also boasts a formidable banking team, led by Jacob Bernhoft. He has extensive regional and international experience and recently advised a group of banks on the restructuring of shipping group Torm and the arrangers of Welltec’s high-yield bond issue. The “first-class” Kim Rasmussen is “extremely well known” in the banking sector and for his debt capital markets work. He is singled out for his understanding of US and UK banking matters, as well as boasting a “very strong” regional profile.
A number of individuals from the firm’s information technology practice are highlighted in our research, notably Lau Normann Jørgensen, who leads the TMT practice group. He has a “brilliant track record” in this sector and acts as counsel to a large number of international technology companies, including TCS, HP, Cisco and Capgemini in their Danish contracts and acquisitions. Jens Rostock-Jensen is head of the firm’s litigation and arbitration group and a “legend” in the Danish legal market. He is praised for his litigation abilities in the aviation, insurance and reinsurance, and product liability defence sectors and thus garners multiple listings in our research. According to peers he is “in a class of his own” and clients describe him as their “go-to guy” for contentious matters.
In the patent and life sciences fields Nicolai Lindgreen is very highly regarded, offering as he does more than two decades of experience. He is “frequently seen” on high-profile patent litigation cases before all levels of the courts and is admired for his “deep understanding” of the life sciences and health care industries.
Kromann Reumert joined the UN Global Compact, an international initiative seeking to promote corporate social responsibility, in 2008. Central to its commitment to CSR is the firm’s pro bono initiative, which is largely based on giving legal advice to charitable organisations. Those that benefit from the firm’s formidable expertise include SOS Children’s Village, OMBOLD, the Danish Brain Injury Association and Copenhagen Pride.
