Sole representative of the Montreal office in this chapter, Madeleine Renaud has been involved in several landmark cases including Chrysler Canada and she is “repeatedly recommended” for her representation of clients in investigations and class actions related to alleged cartel activities.

McCarthy Tétrault’s real estate practice group has recently grown with the arrival of three lawyers to the Montreal office including James Papadimitriou who is selected for inclusion in our corresponding section alongside three other McCarthy lawyers. Papadimitriou is the group’s leader for the Quebec region and advises on acquisitions, developments, joint ventures, financings and leasing transactions, representing Canadian chartered banks, retail operators and landlords on leasing matters. Keith Burrell QC in Vancouver is “vastly experienced” in advising real estate developers and specialises in representing developers of large residential and mixed use projects engaged in presale activity.
