Golden Era for Private Equity in Latin America: Dawn or Dusk?
Year after year, fundraising by private equity firms for Latin American investments grows dramatically – with a record US$10.3 billion raised in 2011, a 27% increase on 2010. However, the amount actually invested in the region was US$6.5 billion, a 10% decrease from 2010’s figure. So while there is certainly money to be invested, funds are finding it increasingly difficult to find good, reasonably safe and attractively priced targets in the region.
In this complex environment, the role of skilled counsel in helping their clients close deals becomes ever more important, as investments must be carefully facilitated and creatively structured. This, Latin Lawyer’s Third Annual Private Equity Conference, is designed to help counsel find their way through the various obstacles impeding the volume of transactions, and close more deals successfully. Join us in New York for this very popular and high-level conference, featuring some of the top names in the industry.
There will also be a cocktail reception held immediately after the conference in the same venue, hosted by our sponsor Curtis Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP.
